Kimigiku (君菊) is a support character in Hakuouki. She is a member of a shinobi clan who works for Senhime's family. As a disguise, she is also a geisha in Shimabara where she meets the Shinsengumi for the first time and dresses up Chizuru.
Story
Kimigiku first appears for a short period of time in Episode 4 listening to her Princess's speech about an upcoming storm.
Shortly after Sanosuke Harada's patrol group encounters Kaoru Nagumo for the first time, he uses the reward from the patrol task to treat his fellow captains to dinner in Shimabara, the Geisha district (Episode 8); Kimigiku, dressed as a Geisha, serves them for the night. When the captains suggest dressing Chizuru in women's clothing, Kimigiku willingly accepts their request, gives Chizuru a traditional female kimono and does her hair and make-up. While the group is enjoying themselves, Kimigiku spots Chikage Kazama and Kyuuju Amagiri, and is shown in her shinobi clothing during the day, reporting to Senhime that the notorious group of demons has returned to Kyoto.
After Heisuke Toudou and Hajime Saitou leave with Kashitarou Itou's group, Senhime and Kimigiku pay Chizuru a visit at the Shinsengumi headquarters to inform them that Kazama is in Kyoto, and when Kimigiku is revealed to the captains to be servant and bodyguard to Senhime as well as an oni herself, she and Senhime request that Chizuru join them for her own safety (Episode 9).
Next time Kimigiku is seen while talking to Hijikata in the Shinsengumi's headquarters (Episode 11) and informing him of the problems that Rasetsu Corps has been causing in the city killing civilians. She accompanies Senhime as her shinobi and disappears along with her after Senhime's second failed attempt to persuade Chizuru to leave the Shinsengumi with them.
